At one time, Brunswick, Maine was known for two things… Bowdoin College and the Brunswick Naval Air Station (BNAS). BNAS was closed as a military base in 2010 but was reborn as a business and industrial park. Bowdoin, continues to be the bedrock of the town and center for cultural and academic excellence. With all this intellectual and technical brilliance, you would expect that there would be some excellent tasting rooms in the area also and you would be right. Brunswick is sort of a gateway to the Downeast coast towns north of there and is a good place to explore if you are passing through on your way to Acadia, Boothbay Harbor, and Bar Harbor. The area is also ripe for exploration as there are many “fingers” stretching out into the Atlantic. You could be standing on the shoreline of one and look across at another and immediately the well-worn Maine expression, “You can’t get theyah from heah.” will play in the background soundtrack in your mind. Luckily, you CAN get to these tasting rooms all in one beercation and trust us, it is worth the effort to explore and experience some great tasting rooms in the mid-coast region. Onward!
